Significant populations of water birds live in the area, such as herons, swallows, gulls, while the species that find refuge in Axios are more than 200. Poplars, beeches and plane trees compose the idyllic image of the natural landscape and offer their shade to hikers. Wood and stone were used for the construction of the path and resting places were created for the visitors.
